Incredible benefits of Moringa
Aptly named the miracle plant, Moringa is loaded with powerful antioxidants, vitamins and minerals – more vitamin A than carrots, more vitamin C than oranges, more potassium than bananas, more calcium than milk, and the list goes on. It also has a high protein content, which is an especially positive benefit for vegans and vegetarians.
It was a medicinal staple in ancient times by the Egyptians and the Greeks and today, it grows in the Himalayas, India, and Africa. For centuries it’s been used to combat inflammation, aid digestion, balance hormones, help stabilize blood sugar levels, aid kidney and liver function, protects eyes, improve cardiovascular health, reduces hypertension, bone health, and is great for giving your hair and skin an antioxidant boost. It is also rich in antibacterial and antifungal properties that help fight against infections.
Because Moringa is high in nutrients and its easy to grow its even used in some third world countries to help combat malnutrition.
Admittedly, every week there is a new miracle food on the market. It’s overwhelming and pretty much impossible to take them all. And even if you could it would be far too much for your liver to handle.
My recommendation is to take supplement blends! For example, you could take a greens powder with moringa in it. This one has spirulina, chlorella, and moringa. And if you are looking for a way to consume it, you can put it straight into your water, but that can be a little rough for some (myself included).
My suggestion is to work it into a protein shake, chia pudding recipe, smoothie or smoothie bowl (here’s one recipe from the JM My Fitness App meal plans to get you started)!
1 cup coconut milk
1 tsp of Super Greens
1 cup spinach
1 cup frozen blueberries
1 frozen banana
1 scoop Collagen
1 tsp raw organic honey
Add all ingredients together, blend it up, and enjoy babe!
