Start Challenging Yourself

Hey there, rock stars! I hope this year is off to a great start for all of you. As you continue to work on being your most fit and healthy self this year don’t forget to work on YOURSELF too. To continue to grow as a person, you have to continue to challenge yourself mentally, physically, and emotionally. Here are a few self challenges worth trying to help you start doing the work. Are you up to it?

Break Out of Your Comfort Zone

This one may not be too tough for my real badasses, but I challenge YOU to push the envelope this week. Break a rule. Rebel. Be daring. Color outside the lines. Go against the grain. In any area of your life that you know deep down truly needs it — where the survival of your happiness depends upon it. One provision — don't be malicious towards another in your endeavors. Track your progress in a journal and see how you feel at the end of the week. Did you learn anything about yourself?

Break Your Bad Habit

Pick one unhealthy habit and cut it out for a week. It could be diet soda, fast food — anything you think isn't good for you. It doesn’t have to be a food habit — it can be any bad habit, like bailing on the gym after work or forgetting to call a family member. Start strengthening your will power in small increments to help the goal be more manageable and attainable in the long run. Make a change for a week, and if it’s going well, I dare you to try it for a month.

Get Happy

Smile at everyone you meet or come in contact with. I don't care if you're in a crappy mood or if they are. Make your smile the first thing someone sees. You will be amazed at how this gesture disarms people and sets the tone for a positive encounter. The world can be a hostile and frustrating place at times, but when we make these small efforts it makes a big difference in bringing warmth and positivity into our daily lives.
