Spotlight on Lamps
I have done some shopping lately for clients and thought I would share with you some of my favorite items I’ve come across. This month I’ll begin with table lamps, and I’ll follow up with other categories. Let me know if there are any particular items in which you are interested.
My favorite lamps from Ikea (www.ikea.com) include the Husvik work lamp, the Forsa work lamp (nickel plated), and the Mil work lamp (white is really cool). All of these require halogen bulbs- which last much longer than incandescents but can get quite hot; much better for desks and end tables than for a child’s bedroom. At CB2 (www.cb2.com), the Mad Desk Lamp is so cool- great for a desk, bedside table or in a kid’s room- and it can take a compact fluorescent bulb. It’s really retro and fun. The Crane Desk Lamp is another option- it’s this interesting, retro olive green color and it comes with three LED bulbs that last the life of the lamp (about 10 years). At West Elm (www.westelm.com), I loved the Sphere Table Lamp (a smaller lamp), The Gourd Table Lamp (great on an endt table in your living room or by your bed) and the Ceramic Cube Table Lamp (a smaller lamp- great in a hallway or on a dresser).
Happy Shopping! Next up…end tables.
