Declutter
Hello
all,
Thank you so much for your interest and for all of your wonderful comments! There is so much to say about interior
design, so we’ll have lots to discuss in the coming months. To start, let’s begin with trying to
organize the house with children, which I realize can be a daunting task!
A
simple solution is to provide your kids with a cubby system for their toys and
things. Start with a shelving
system or a bench and add storage baskets. Some shelving systems I like include: The Container Store’s “Elfa” system, Ikea’s
“Ivar” system, and 2Modern’s Kid Bookcase. (You can find all of these online.) If you like a bench idea — which
provides extra seating in addition to storage — try Pottery Barn or
Target. For the basket, look at
Pottery Barn’s baskets (I like the “Savannah” and “Havana” baskets) or try The
Land of Nod for colorful, canvas baskets. Assign each child a basket (you can attach a luggage tag — Target has
cute ones) and start clearing that clutter!
One
other thing to note: many people
loath to throw away magazines, which seem to pile up around the house. To rid yourself of junk mail, go
to http://mailstopper.tonic.com or for the magazines and
publications you cannot bear to part with, organize them in magazine file
folders. “See Jane Work” offers
eco-friendly canvas folders in pretty colors — a perfect solution to declutter
your desk or kitchen!
Finding
a place for everything in your home will simplify the interior’s look and
reduce stress for you! For more info about junk mail and keeping green, check

Happy Cleaning!
