Caroline Howell
Green Lifestyle Expert
Caroline Howell is a Green Home & Lifestyle Consultant, whose business, GreenBeanie™ Inc. is headquartered in Pasadena, CA. Caroline founded her company to formalize the advice she was sharing with friends and family about “green living” including habits and routines that are better for your health, the health of those around you and the planet. The mission of GreenBeanie™ is to help make it easy for families to practice and promote personal and environmental health; this is done through personalized consultations and Green Action Plans. Over the past year, Caroline has been Jillian’s green guru helping her implement changes around her home that promote greener and healthier living.
Caroline grew up in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and attended Wake Forest University in North Carolina, where she earned a BA in Political Science. She spent 10 years in PR and marketing in the telecom and Internet arena at the height of the Internet boom. Since moving to Southern California, she has worked in many different community and volunteer capacities, including speaking to community groups and implementing green teams. Caroline takes her knack for understanding confusing & emerging technologies and applies it to the explanation of the burgeoning — and often bewildering — green industry.
When Caroline and her son, Sam, developed asthma after moving to Southern California from San Francisco, she was motivated to learn more about allergens, air quality and creating a non-toxic home. In addition, Caroline lost her mother to breast cancer the previous year and had several other close friends stricken with the disease; she started finding numerous news sources that linked environmental factors to serious health problems. The more Caroline learned about green living, the more she wanted to help distill this information for friends and family.
Caroline brings her enthusiasm and positive attitude to educating and helping clients learn ways to improve their homes, actions and choices for healthier and greener living. She believes that there are many shades of green – you don’t have to be “crunchy” or go to extremes to make a difference in your daily life. Caroline lives in Southern California with her husband, Nick, her children Sam and Lucy, and dog Dixie.
As a member of Jillian’s team, Caroline will share tips and advice on how you can make changes in your lifestyle to be healthier and greener. This is a natural tie-in to Jillian’s mantra and her book — toxins in your home, your body and your environment are bad for you. Let’s learn ways to get rid of them — it’s a win-win-win.
