Hi I've always been a very healthy person, worked out regularly, eat well and always active. I've always been around the weight of 115-120 expect for when I got pregnant I was 145 and went back down to 120. I still feel like I'm the same but have gained 28 ponds within the last 3 months. What could cause this excess weight gain ?? Could it be. Stress??

Stress increases cortisol which causes weight gain. Sleep eliminates cortisol as does exercise. Stress and less than 8 hrs of sleep can cause weight gain.

Wow.  Thanks for the input.  Just read your post and it was an eye opener.   I was under stress for a number of years and was consistently gaining weight and couldn't figure it out.   It makes sense now.   I've been doing Jillian's program since mid April and it has made a huge difference in my life.   I'm much less stressed and sleeping better, too.   AND yes the lbs are coming off.   Am greatful for the input on these message boards.  Thanks again.

Hi NorthFiddler,

Glad to hear the message boards are helpful for you!

Stress, as dynamiteglow mentioned, can certainly play a role.  It's also important to get sleep, drink plenty of water.. take care of you! :)

You can also always check in with your doctor, they'll be happy to help too!

Way to go! I suspect stress alone is a big cause of weight gain. I am looking back on the past few weeks of gut busting boot camp workouts and have gained inches, weight, and cannot figure out why. Then I realized my sleep suffered so I could awaken early for boot camp. Then incredible stressors started in: family death, relocation, etc. Ayyy...we need sleep to restore vitality. We need proper fuel and proper rest n relaxation. We are living proof.
