Why did you buy Unlimited?
I have been on this site long enough that I have a good basis in the diet and exercise portions, but I know that there is alot of the mental part that I have yet to figure out...This book is hopefully the push I need to come up with the answers I need. Whether or not they will be the answers I want are yet to be seen, but I definately hope that they will be the answers that let me advance to where I need to go to have the kind of life I was meant to have, a life full of happiness and successes.
This was such an interesting question to me for so many reasons. One of the most interesting facts about seeing the responses is that there are many reasons and ways to arrive at a decision or goal. Sometimes the path to our destinations are through one route or various twists and turns. The choices given in this poll were about making decisions and saying "Hey, I chose one, but that does not limit me to embracing the other choices, also. This is my journey & I am powerful. I know the power of choice affects every aspect of who I am, what I do, and my end results." Thanks for stopping to share your thoughts and recognizing your choices!
I love that you're making choices to determine what you want for your life and not letting anything putting limitations on how you will achieve your desired results. It's a very admirable and powerful place to reside in. Keep going and for all of us the sky is the limit!!
We are kindred spirits in the area of being on a quest to gain a healthier mental self as well as physical self. In the process of reading and living Unlimited, I have found profound enlightment on so many areas in my life. Sometimes, I have found the sources of my own sabotage, and other times, I have found strengths that are already a part of my life. I will forever have this book as a source to understand and navigate my journey in and through life. I know I will have to read it "unlimited" times over and over again. Revelation comes through having faith and being open. When revelation is received, the hard work continues, but as Jillian says, 'People can achieve anything if they feel worth it and capable'. We are all making this journey together. Some of us are farther and further along than others, but having resources like a great, invested leader, community, and really smart books are invaluable. So, I have decided that I will give and get indefinitely, because we are worth it and capable. We can do this!!
Does anyone have any suggestions- even from the book- on how to create kind of a "positive bubble" so that no negative energy can enter in? I've come so far in my journey and I refuse to let anyone take it away from me..

I recently bought the audio version of Unlimited because I need a push to get out of my comfort zone. My husband left for a tour in Afghanistan a couple months ago and I got scared that I would not have the energy to take care of everything by myself. And Jillian is my role model of energy and I bought her book hoping that it would rub off on me. And of course it did. And I am learning that obstacle can make you stronger and wiser. What I love about the book is that it can apply to any challenge that you have. So anytime I need motivation to get trough a busy week or to try something out of my comfort zone, I listen to the book and it helps.
This will be my first post on this board. I just recently sign up and haven't had too much time to learn my way around. I wanted to reply to this thread because I continue to learn more about myself as I read this book. I'll be perfectly honest and say that Jillian wasn't my favorite trainer on the show but after reading her book I appreciate her so much. She has made me think hard as to why I have dealt with this weight issue for so many years. I just wrote to Beth, my trainer on here and told her that with Jillian's book and the program Addicted To Food on OWN I have learned that I can grow from here even at the age of 47. I feel that I am about to venture into some great discoveries about myself and I thank Jillian for that.
I look forward to learning more about myself and the rest of you ladies/gentlemen on here. This can be such a great journey!
I am so glad that you have begun on your journey to understanding your issues with weight. I know the feeling that you're experiencing. It's like the lights have been turned on after not knowing that there had been such great darkness. One thing that you will find out from this experience is that you can be thank that you have resources such as Jillian's books, websites, etc and the ATF show, but Jillian will tell you not to give your power away. Resources shouldn't take credit for the hard work that is required to make this journey. You have to do the work on you with God's guidance and no one else can do it for you. I say this only because that's what Jillian would have probably said to you-don't give your power away, and because to own your journey completely makes you feel powerful and capable. I have not watched the ATF show but I know Tennie was on Ruby's show helping her. I can say that this journey of discovering and sustaining inner wholeness, which eventually translates to the outside, is never ending. We're all constant works in progress. I know you can do it. Thank you for sharing your journey with us, and I am honored to be able to share your journey with you and have you share my journey with me. Keep seek knowledge and applying it. All of Jillian's contributions-DVDs, books, website, podcasts, social networking-facebook & tweets, interviews, etc. are not only contributors to making this journey "easier" but she is quite funny and entertaining. So laugh alot and cry alot, but look for the joy and peace in it all even during the difficult times. So hand in hand, we can and will do this. Shoulders to cry on and shoulders to lean on when we are falling down laughing. It's great. We're all in this together.
I am so glad you're here to share a part of your life with us. I think that we all encounter negative situations that we feel are beyond our control. The only person in any situation whom we can control is ourselves. I can control and change my mind, my thoughts, my attitude, my actions, my reactions, my words, and my location. It's not easy, but it's totally doable. I have discovered that I have to be totally conscious of the negative situations and negative people around me. I write down the encounter and person, and say how could I have handled that better or how will I handle that situation or person the next time. Practice it in the mirror, practice it with people. I myself look for opportunities without letting anyone know to practice my reactions and actions. It's great. I don't think that any of us can live in a "positive bubble" totally void of difficult situations and people, but positivity can come from you regardless of the situation or person. So find your center where your peace and joy lies and utilize it in every situation. For me, it's a matter of attrition, eventually after much practice and use, it will be second nature. Then you can start working on something else. Self-discovery, enlightenment, and evolution is pleasurable sometimes through it but most certainly at the end of each triumph. So be encouraged. As Mahatma Gandhi is quoted, "Be the change you want to see in the world."
It's great to know that you're ready to have the life that you're meant to have. I say that you can live your dreams, re-claim lost dreams, and discover new dreams. I'm saying that for you and me. We can do this. We are doing this. Take care.
I also realize that I have nothing to fear when it comes to certain foods, that I am not alone during this journey but that ultimately I am the one who makes the choice as to what enters my mouth. Amazing how I am able to slowly view food as fuel as gas is to my car. It truly has no emotional purpose, that corporations and marketing companies have convinced us that foods can help us feel better when in reality they do the opposite. Food has one purpose only and that is to give our bodies the energy to keep on working.
All in time and I am happy to say that as of right now I am calm and focused, I keep repeating certain quotes from her book as well as from my prayer book and I am able to take the day in stride.
Thanks for sharing with me and I will continue to do the same.
