Newbie With Questions

Today is my first day.  I am more used to doing cardio than weight training.  I am a little concerned because I have had a couple of injuries.  I had a hip resurfacing surgery 3 years ago, lateral release of the meniscus 10 years ago and I have 3 crushed vertabraes from a drunk driver (no surgery).  Will I be able to modify the exercises if it is something that hurts my injuries?

I am also worried about the food plan.  I only eat 1 meal a day with my significant other, but he eats heavy meals with sauces, etc. I do the cooking, but he is such a picky eater and will not change his habits.  Is there a way I can still stay on plan and have my dinner with my SO still?

I already have the body media armband and a subscription to body media.  Is there a way I can upgrade to Jillian's version of the body media?

Do any of you have suggestions for maintaining your motivation.  I lost my motivation a couple of months back (which is why I joined).  I was exercising every morning at about 5:00 a.m.  I lost my motivation and I cannot get it back.  I am lucky if I make it to the gym 2 times a week.

Thanks!

Ok first off I don't eat the prescribed meal plans due to budget, I just eat the same stuff as my family in smaller portions. With that in mind I have tweeked their food options slightly to incorperate more health ingredients.

As for the armband if you subscribe to JM website, you can click on the 360 navigator to link your armband to her site.

I hope you can find your motivation again, I lost mine and just recently found it again. Unfortunately it seems that is just always going to be a constant stuggle :(

Good luck!!!
Carrie

Hi,
When you are making meals can you just leave your self some meat and veggies out of the heavy sauces that your partner likes.  Portion control is a must either way. but If you can just set aside a plate before adding the not so healthy stuff you can stick to a healthier diet.  Also you dont have to stick exactly to the meal plan. Just take the concepts and adapt it to you.  Basically, healthy fats in moderation, lots of veggies, berries, and lean protein.  Organic when you can on things like dairy, thin skinned or veggies that dont have a peel.  Whole grains, you can find single servings of whole grains if you cant get you partner to eat them. they have them in frozen section to that are microwavable.  So quick and easy to make.
Motivation wise.  Try writing down why you are on the journey.  Really think about it. When you have your reasons put it every where you can in your home to help you get motivated again.  If you are lacking motivation.  you may want to think about what is holding you back? Why are you sabotaging yourself? Then look at your reasons for wanting to lose weight again.  When people fall off the wagon per say.  There usually an emotional reason.  You need to get in touch with that to be able to break through that barrier.
