Newbie needing motivation

Hi!! I'm 33 and looking to loose 40 lbs. main main issue is getting my butt in gear a d getting my workout in. I work alot of night shifts and needing to figure out how to work that issue out with eating as well. Was wondering if anyone was interested in being a buddy with me?

Hi there! I'm 48 and in the same pit! I am a full-time work-at-home mom and am stuck. I feel like I never have 'enough time', but the mornings when I set the alarm a little early and do one of hte Jillian videos before shower and breakfast, I am way better focused and motivated all day. But some mornings are a little harder than others; I've had the flu for over a week and it's wiped me out.  I would love to have another soul out there to check in with, daily or maybe every other day, to cheer each other on!

Hi group...I'd love to belong to an inspirational group of like-minded, like-goals ppl. 
Lord knows I need all the motivation and accountability I can get. So if your up to it lets commit to come here at least once a day, with words of inspiration or straight up venting. 
We deserve to live our life in the body we want with energy to thrive & inspire others.
I will officially begin my program Jan. 7th. I am taking these next few days to clean up my environment, shop and organize. 
I got some kick-ass black/green k-swiss tubes for Christmas too!!

Welcome!!!! I just started today with clean eating and working out again!!!! Feels great. I work nights tonight so Hopfully I don't stiffen up to badly !!!! I hope u guys get ur workout in today as well!!!! I feel wonderful!!!! Have a great evening!!!! :)

I understand how you feel! I started Jillians 90 dvd plan on Monday and today woke up with a stinking cold and really can't face dragging myself off the sofa. Someone pop round and prod me with a cattle prod please

Its difficult isn't it :-( I work at home as a yoga instructor which would mean I should be super fit but after breaking my foot last October I couldn't do ANYTHING standing for months. I literally taught verbally for 3 months. Now I've got to get my fitness back without hurting the still healing bones. That on top of a law degree and keeping up my yoga practice is tricky. Still the great thing with Jillian is half an hour is do-able

Today is day 1 for me....I'm 35...I'm a single mom of 2 beautiful girls...and I am truly ready...I love the idea of pushing and motivating and supporting each other through this journey....we can do this!!!

To-day is my first day, just the same as last year I said I was going to do something about my weight and fitness, gained 10 lbs last year can afford to gain another 10lbs this year, my knees are already hurting, so if there's enough of us to keep each other motivated then we all win

I think we r all looking for extra help. I think it is cool that we know we need each other. Legalyogi, i just started doing yoga 10 months ago. My sister has been a teacher for a few years. Have to admit i luv it. Hang in there with your cold. I dont get home til 8 or 9 alot of nights. I work out in the mornings. It can be pretty tough getting up but i try to focus on just for today i can do it. So can u:):)

Thanks to all in this group who are posting daily!  The motivation is great and I feel like I can do anything now, but I'll start with getting myself in shape for me!!!  Here is to another day that I face motivated and empowered!!  One day at a time!!!  We can do this together!

Hey... As a security guard, I work different hours and in front of the public so exercising can be very difficult. I find that my dog and I can get plenty of walking in.At night, when no one is around, I get in a few moves. Due to  not being able to prepare elaborate meals, even nutrition is questionable. What I've discovered is that fresh, ready to eat foods are the best and can be kept in the car without refrigeration. Bananas, fresh fruit and yogurt are good snacks. Good Luck, hope to read about your successes.

Today wasn't such a good day or me. After working nights the last two and walking about 27 miles each night. I was suppose to rest today when it ame to working out. I did but my diet was within calories but because I have t done any working out I feel kinda blah and gross. Ill take this and learn from it tomorrow is always another day!!!! Thanks everyone for posting on here!!!

Good morning, GypsyMama! Sounds like a great plan - I've found it helps so much to have a place to vent/cheer/encourage each other as we stagger toward fitness...sometimes the workouts are a joy, sometimes it's a struggle to keep with it...knowing there are others out there with on the road really helps!

It's always hard to for me to take a 'day off' from workout, I feel so much better after the exercise, even if it's kinda sore, just because I know it's working...And great on you, not beating yourself up for going off a few calories...to my way of thinking, missing a few once in a while is not the end of the world...and each day is a new start and a new chance to do even better. Yay us!

Been there.  I have food journals that I have kept when I start out on another diet.   Found one the other day that was from 6 years back.  I think of how much time and energy I have wasted to just not finish a program.  I guess the good thing to remember is that I am still trying and haven't given up.  I am doing great with my calories and the support groups are great.  I am still having problems getting motivated to do the exercising, however.  It is not hard for me once I get going.  It is just getting into that mind set and just doing it!!  Today, I will try again to get the exercise done.  new day, new challenge!

Good Evening all! I am a 33 yr old woman w/ 3 kids at home, one at college, and of course my husband.  I work all day and have to force myself to get up in the morning to workout, but I have to admit it makes my day go better. It is just so hard to wake up at 5 am to do one of Jillian's butt kicking videos. I am on day four of 30 day shred, and it's great. Tough, but doable. I like the time length and they way she works you out in short, but intense circuits. 
I have the hardest time sticking with something to lose weight.  I have a long road of 60lbs ahead of me.  I do feel I am finally really ready, but again...day four! ha! I need all of your help to still be here at day 44, and and 144!
I get frustrated with myself because I lost it all once, and was so happy, but then ruptured a disc in my back.  I wound up w/ surgery (rods, screws, and fusion), so needless to say I am back (and then some) where I started! :(
However, new year and everyday is a new day, LET'S DO THIS!!! ;)
