Bodymedia media results

I have been struggling for the last 2 months desperately trying to lose weight. I work out 6 days a week sometimes even 2x a day. I log everything I eat... 1000-1200 calories a day with very low carbs. Nothing prepared or processed. According to the Bodymedia band I burn 2200-2300 calories a day and have a deficit of 1000-1400 depending on my day. I have lost 1 pound! I am really beginning to wonder why I am even bothering. I keep trying unsuccessfully to sign up for coaching on this site, but not even sure if that will help. Their customer service at Jm is deplorable. You hold forever, and get an idiot that cannot even help and are left to figure it out for yourself. Not to mention their business hours are impossible if you are employed.

Hi, I know it can be frustrating to work so hard and not see the results. What I would suggest is eating a bit more. Have you used the JM site to see how many calories you should eat? For me it's between 1400-1699. Up to 1200 calories seems really low for how much you are working out. Good luck.

My gym trainer, Bodymedia, and the Jm site say up to 1399. I can rarely eat that much unless I throw in high fat junk food. I am also diabetic so I really do have to avoid all the carbs. Higher fats cause a reaction to my meds.

Accarpenter, If I remember this correctly.... You have to eat at least 1200 cals a day or you go into starvation mode and it shuts down your metabilism. Biggest Looser keeps the contestants on a 1200 calorie diet. As far as being diabetic; do you eat cinnamon everyday? That won't add many calories for you but it is said to regulate your sugar and insulin levels in your blood. Those both have to stay regulated (for everybody) or it will mess with you metabilism as well.

Don't give up! If you have a smartphone make sure you get Jillian Michaels Slim Down App. She has updated it and it gives you all kinds of exercises with video. It's like having a personal coach.

Good Luck and stay strong, Jorie

I do have the app. My blood sugar is very well controlled as long as I limit carbs and especially fruit. Cinnamon does not help me very much. My blood sugar fluctuates rapidly if I eat a tiny amount of carbs. I just need something to finally work.... This is killing me.

I'm so sorry, it has to be frustrating. Since you have diabities monitored. You workout 6 days a week and you're not going over in calories.......... Are you changing up your workout and increasing the intensity to confuse your body? If you're doing all that and nothing is working...I'd say it's time for a doctor's visit. Have you let your doctor know what's giong on? He might suggest some test for chemical imbalaces. Have you had your thyroid checked?
I feel for you, I hope you get it figured out. I would be frustrated as well. But whatever you do, don't give up!

On another subject...would you know if there is any kind of setting I can change so I can get notices on my phone or email when somebody posts in a convo that I have also posted on? I would of responded earlier if I knew you replyed to my reply. I'm still trying to learn this site. I started back in 2010 but gave up on the site because I couldn't find anybody that wanted to be my buddy :( Damn, that sounds pitiful. But it's true. I can't even figure out how to do the trackers. I did what they said to do and now I have the code show up at the bottom with no tracker. I don't know, this is frustrating.

I am not sure about notifications. I always get an email when some replies to my posts. I went to the dr a couple of months ago and everything checked out. I was so upset about the weight gain that he got upset also. I have always had maybe 5-10 lbs to lose until I got pregnant. Thanks to a complicated pregnancy and gestational diabetes.... I went from 130 to 235. Nothing got it off. 10 years later I finally found a dr to diagnose the diabetes. Once I was started on meds, I dropped about 70 lbs in 4-5 months only watching my diet and kept it off for 4 years. I was down to 140 and a size 4. Then last summer I had a hysterectomy, my son was in and out of the hospital, and I had a bad knee injury. To add icing to the cake, my doc decided my blood sugar was so well controlled that I could go off my meds. I gained 30 lbs in 3 months. My doc always bragged that I was his poster child and he bragged to his other patients about me so I felt like such a loser when I gained the weight. He even prescribed topamax/ adipex as together they are supposed to be a mega weight loss drug. I also went back on the same diabetes meds that made me drop the weight so fast. Pair that with my rigorous workout and now 8 weeks later..... Still nothing.
