Season 7, Episode 19
Biggest Loser Recap: Finale Time!

At the start of last night's finale, contestants from past seasons — Pete, Julie, Bernie, and Michelle — showed up on stage to prove that Biggest Loser doesn't just stop at the finale; you can keep the weight off and change your life for good. But last night was all about the 22 contestants of Season 7, and we witnessed some major accomplishments and unbelievable transformations. Here's how the impressive last show played out.

America Decides: Last week, Helen and Tara sailed into the final three, and America had to choose which contestant, Mike or Ron, would join them. After their jaw-dropping reveals, which were made even more dramatic when they stepped through paper cutouts of their former selves, the father-and-son team were ready to face the results of America's vote. Honoring Ron's plea to vote for his son, America chose Mike to be the third finalist. He went on to battle for the $250,000 ultimate prize, while Ron would try for the at-home prize. But as host Alison Sweeney revealed, that vote wasn't the only one America had to cast: Two people were on set vying for the last slot in the new season of The Biggest Loser, and America would decide that night who got to join the cast. The choice was between two young ladies, Erinn and Amanda, and to help America decide, Alison put the girls to work with Bob and me in a gym offstage, where we gave them a really tough beating. Cameras checked on in on us throughout the show to see who held up best, and the results were revealed later in the show.

Who Did Best at Home? The at-home contestants were then ready for their own big reveal. Those who were eliminated from the Ranch — some early on and some in later weeks — battled it out for $100,000. Out first, Jerry and Estella were hot grandparents, and soon-to-be married couple Nicole and Damien looked sleek. Then it was time to change into workout clothes and step on the scale. Estella lost 83 pounds since the beginning of the season, and her husband Jerry, the oldest player in Biggest Loser history at the age of 64, lost 177 pounds — SO incredible! Damien lost 136 pounds and his fiancée Nicole lost 123; both will look amazing at their August wedding. Out next were cousins Sione and Filipe, who performed their signature Tongan dance and explained that the exercise class they started for their community was getting so big it was moving to a local high school. Joelle and Carla, the "best friends" who weren't so friendly the last time we saw them, explained that they were doing well and were getting along again. Stepping on the scale, Sione had a total weight loss of 146 pounds, and Filipe lost 135. Carla, the heaviest woman in the show's history, lost 128 pounds and Joelle lost 80 pounds — great results, especially when you consider that each did it mostly on her own. Next out were buff cousins Dane and Blaine, who had just done a half marathon, a full marathon, and a half Ironman triathlon in last three weeks — simply insane, those two. Out on stage with them were sisters Mandi, looking radiant in her yellow dress, and Aubrey, also looking gorgeous. On the scale, Blaine lost 116 pounds, while Dane lost 154. Supermom sisters Mandi lost 92 pounds and Aubrey lost 55. Up next were hot mom Cathy and her beautiful, now platinum blonde daughter Kristin; they lost 95 and 167 pounds, respectively. Best friends David and Daniel came out with them. David lost 43 pounds and Daniel, the heaviest player the show has ever seen, lost 142 pounds. Both said that they even though they still had a long way to go, they were definitely not giving up now. Last but not least came glammed-up gals Shanon and Laura, and Ron came back out as well. Laura lost 86 pounds, Shanon lost 92, and Ron lost an incredible 192 pounds. However, NONE of the other players could top 64-year-old Jerry, who beat out EVERYONE to become the at-home winner! Absolutely amazing... he'd been on the Ranch for only two weeks AND had collapsed on the first day! He did it ALL at home and is now $100,000 richer. He was so excited to win that he lifted me up like I weighed nothing — how many grandpas do you know who can do THAT?!

Aussies in the House: As you may know, The Biggest Loser isn't just an American phenomenon — the show takes place all over the world. The Biggest Loser: Australia recently crowned its winner, and he and his partner (The Biggest Loser: Australia had done a "couples" theme too) came to finale to cheer on their American counterparts. At 56 years old, Bob Herdsman was the oldest contestant in the show's history when he lost 193 pounds to take his country's top prize. His partner and daughter-in-law Tiffany looked stunning and was 119 pounds lighter than when she began on show.

The Final Reveals: We'd already seen lean Mike at the start of the show, but before Helen and Tara stepped out on the stage, we got a glimpse of just how far they'd come. It's always so amazing to see their undeniable progress — not just in their bodies but also in their mindsets. Then it was time to show off...Mike looked handsome of course, Helen looked absolutely smokin' in a tiny hot pink dress, and Tara looked like a goddess in her green dress. While those three got ready to step on the scale, Alison revealed who won the slot for Season 8. Amanda, a 19-year-old from New Jersey with the nickname "Smiley," is now in for the biggest change of her life — I hope she's ready for what she just won!

And the Winner Is... First on the scale was Helen, who'd weighed 257 pounds when she started at the Ranch. She lost an awe-inspiring 140 pounds, making her a 117-pound, 48-year-old hot momma! Mike, who'd come to the Ranch weighing 388 pounds, now weighs 181 — he's lost 207 pounds! That number was just shy of what he needed to beat Helen, but it means he has lost more than he currently weighs! Tara, who'd started at 294 pounds and never fell below the yellow line during her time on show, lost 155 pounds, but it just wasn't enough to beat the pink! Helen is officially the oldest person to win The Biggest Loser, and she walked away with $250,000! I couldn't be more proud of ALL of the contestants for an awesome job well done!
