Biggest Loser Recap: Bringing Back the Eighties!

Tensions soared on the Ranch this week as all the contestants tried to get over the shock that Blue Team member Amy C. had voted off her teammate Brady. Brady's wife Vicky took it the hardest, even putting up a sign on her door stating that revenge was coming. Bob had to comfort Amy C., who felt that voting for Brady would help her stay in the game and become the Biggest Loser. Luckily, we had a totally rad theme on the Ranch this week to try to lighten the mood. Here's what came about...

Totally Eighties Week: To kick off the week, Alison showed up in a DeLorean, decked out as a blast from the past to let the seven remaining players know it was going to be a "totally Eighties" theme week at the Ranch., The Ranch was decked out with Eighties memorabilia (Pac-Man, hello!), and the contestants got new, tubular workout outfits — leotards, headbands, crotch hugging shorts and all. Then it was time to rock out with Eighties-inspired workouts! I brought my Black Team to hang out with the amazing dancer and choreographer Anthony Carr, who showed them not only how to break-dance but also how to let loose and have fun while they break a sweat. Bob's Blue Team did a retro step aerobics class, totally Jane Fonda–style.

Trivia Challenge: If you watched Nickelodeon in the Eighties, you might remember the show where the players would have this nasty green slime poured over their heads during their challenge...well, this challenge was a little like that, only with water instead of green goo. The contestants stood on a stage grasping the end of a band that ran beneath their feet and connected to a barrel placed high above their heads. Each person's barrel contained 50 percent of his or her body weight in water, and if a player let the band go, the barrel would tip and all that water would come crashing down. As they held on to their bands, the players were quizzed on their knowledge of Eighties health and fitness trivia and had to tap a buzzer at their feet when they knew the answer. When players got a question wrong, water was added to their barrel, but if they answered correctly, they got to add water to someone else's barrel. When a player couldn't hang on any longer and got drenched, that person was out. In the end, the game came down to mother and daughter Michelle and Renee...and after Michelle offered to buy her mom a designer purse if she let go, Renee let herself get soaked and Michelle was the winner. As her prize, she got to choose between getting $5,000 or giving a one-pound penalty to another person at the weigh-in.

Deciding Factors: In a last-chance workout that took them waaay out of their comfort zone and drew out a few tears, my ladies gave me their all. Coleen even demonstrated one of her own personal accomplishments by fitting perfectly into a top she couldn't even squeeze into before she came! But soon it was time to prove it on the scale. Michelle and Renee both pulled eight-pound weight losses, but sadly, Coleen lost only three pounds, which choked up both her and me! Instead of taking the money as her challenge prize, Michelle decided to give the additional pound to the Blue Team's Vicky, and at the end of the day that's what pushed Vicky below the yellow line with Coleen. In the elimination room, Heba and Ed showed team loyalty to Blue and Michelle and Renee showed their allegiance to Black. It was down Amy C.'s vote yet again, and despite the rude comments Vicky had dealt her all week, Amy C. voted to send Coleen home.

Back at home, Coleen is now in size 10 pants — quite a change from the size 22 she was wearing when she arrived at the Ranch! She looks amazing and happy, and I can't wait to see jaws drop when viewers see her again.

Next Week: We've got a special, heartwarming Thanksgiving families event for you! Plus, see how Michelle and Renee, a mom and daughter who don't want to be torn apart, deal with being the only remaining Black Team members. It all comes to down to one crucial weigh-in that you don't want to miss!
